SSC CGL Exam is expanded as – Staff Selection Commission -Combined Graduate Level Examination.

SSC combined graduate level exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission every year for the recruitment of different Central Civil posts under various reputed government organizations.

SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is an open- competitive written examination conducted for the recruitment of personnel for Grade- B and C categories posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. The written test of this exam includes four tiers; Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.

Every year many aspirants apply to compete in the SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam for the desired posts as per the advertisement issued by the Staff Selection Commission, the conducting body of the CGL Exam.

SSC CGL 2020 Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission of India will be conducting the SSC CGL 2020 Exam in four stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 & Tier-4 exam. While the Tier-I & Tier-II exam will be conducted online, Tier-III will be a pen and paper-based exam and Tier-IV will be a computer skill test. SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about 100 questions in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam is a Computer Skill Test. It will be conducted in two steps: DEST Test & CPT Test.

DEST: Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s writing skills.

CPT: This test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of Slides.

SSC CGL Tier-III Syllabus

Tier-III of the SSC CGL 2020 exam is a descriptive exam to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The mode of examination is offline and students are required to write essays, précis, applications, letters, etc. in this exam. The exam carries 100 marks and the time allotted for the same is 60 minutes. The time allotted for candidates belonging to PWD category is increased to 80 minutes. Tier-III paper is given by specific candidates who are interested only in the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade-II” & “Compiler”.

SSC CGL Tier-IV Syllabus

Tier-IV examination comprises of a couple of skill sets required for certain Government Posts all over the country.

DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax), DEST Exam through SSC CGL 2018 exam is conducted to check the typing speed of the candidate. The candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer. A candidate is required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.
CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides are the three modules that are important for this exam and the commission demands a candidate to be proficient in it for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).

Tier-I and Tier-II exam are compulsory for all posts mentioned in the SSC CGL 2020 Notification of while Tier-III is specifically for candidates applying for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II and Compiler. Similarly, the Tier-IV exam is taken by candidates applying specifically for TA, CSS, MEA, and Inspector.

Penalty for wrong answers

Giving a wrong answer to a question will lead to a deduction of 0.5 marks in Tier – I, III, and IV while that of 0.25 marks in Tier-II.

SSC CHSL Tier-II is a descriptive test that is conducted to test the written skills of candidates in English/Hindi. The paper involves writing an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of about 150-200 words. The minimum marks that a candidate needs to qualify SSC CHSL Tier-II are 33 percent.

• The total time duration of the exam is of 60 minutes and total marks are 100 marks.
• All the questions are based on the concepts of the 10th standard.

As stated above, this paper calls for candidates to write an essay and Letter/Application that tests the writing skills of the candidates. The Staff Selection Commission or SSC has recently announced the Recruitment Notification for Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF. All these posts fall under the SSC Central Police Organization, hence the Central Government. Stage 1 of the exam will take place in June & July. It will be a Computer-based test. Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes
Eye standards should be without visual correction of any kind even by glasses.

SSC CPO Paper – 2 Exam Pattern

SSC CPO Paper-2 will be conducted after the PET/PST Test for SSC CPO 2018 is conducted.

• The total time duration of the exam is of 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.

NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP: A candidate must be a citizen of India.

AGE LIMITS: 18-23 years as on 01.08.2016. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.1998.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS : (as on 01.08.2016) Matriculation or Xth class pass from a recognized board/university.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS :
Physical standards laid down for the post of Constable are –
a) Height :
For Males: 170 cms.
For Females: 157 cms.

120 Multiple Choice Questions are asked from General Aptitude constituting of Reasoning, Data Analysis, English Language, Computer Proficiency, General Awareness, General Intelligence, Current Events, Numerical Ability, Data Interpretation to candidates applying for the Post Code A {Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering)}, B {Junior Engineer (Electrical Engineering)}, C {Junior Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)}, F {AG- III (General)}, G {AG-III (Accounts)}, H{AG – III (Technical)} & I { AG-III (Depot)}.

Paper-II (Duration-90 minutes):

• 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering will be asked to candidates applying for the Post Code A {Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering)}, Post Code B {Junior Engineer (Electrical Engineering)}, Post Code C {Junior Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)} to assess the post-specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.

• 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Commerce particularly from the field of General Accounting and Finance will be asked to the candidates applying for the Post Code G {Assistant Grade-III (Accounts)} to assess the post-specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.

• 120 Multiple Choice Questions on Biological Sciences will be asked to candidates applying for the Post Code H {Assistant Grade-III (Technical)} to assess the post-specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.

Paper-III (Duration-90 minutes):

120 Multiple Choice Questions on General Hindi, General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence, and Computer Knowledge will be asked to candidates applying for the Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)} and Post Code E {Typist (Hindi)}.

Paper-IV (Duration-90 minutes):

2 Passages, one each from Hindi to English and vice-versa and two essays each in Hindi & English will be asked to candidates applying for the Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}.

Candidates applying for the Post of Typist (Hindi) are required to take only Paper – III as Written Test. Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of their performance in Paper-III and the short-listed candidates will undergo a Skill-Test in typing in Hindi which will decide further shot listing of candidates for skill/typing test. Candidates will be intimidated about the same through

The number of candidates to be called for the Skill Test will be 10 times (subject to availability) to the number of vacancies available for Typist (Hindi) posts. In-case the requisite number of Candidates is not available to fill up the vacancies, then at the discretion of Competent Authority, an additional list for the Skill-Test may be drawn based on the merit of Paper-III.

Candidates applying for AG-II (Hindi) posts will be shortlisted for evaluation of Paper-IV, based on their marks in Paper – III.

There will be a minimum qualifying mark for Paper-IV. Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks will be considered for final selection. Final selection will be made on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in Paper – III and Paper – IV, subject to securing the minimum qualifying marks in paper IV. Paper IV will be evaluated for candidates on the Merit list.

Note: – The Question Papers for Written Test will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi

SSC STENOGRAPHER

About SSC: The Staff Selection Commission was established on 4th November 1975. It is the well-reputed organization under the Government of India which is responsible for recruiting talented candidates for various jobs in different departments of the Indian Government and its Subordinate Offices. SSC headquarter is situated in New Delhi. In the present time, the Staff Sectional Commission has 7 Regional offices at Mumbai, Allahabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore and It also consists of two Sub-Regional Offices at Chandigarh and Raipur. Regional Director is the head of each regional office of SSC and Deputy Director is the head of every sub-regional offices of SSC.

The Staff Selection Commission will release SSC Steno Grade C & D 2020 Notification in June and SSC Stenographer 2020 Application Form online submission will be started after a few hours of notification release. SSC Steno (Grade C & D) Examination 2020 will be held in September and it consists of all objective type Multiple Choice Questions in Online Test and Stenography questions in Skill Test. SSC Stenographer Application Form 2018 online link will be activated till month and candidates will have to apply online before the last date.

Latest Updates: – SSC Stenographer 2020 Notification is expected to be released in June by the Staff Sectional Commission. A total of 1000 vacancies is expected to be released this year for Steno Grade C & D Posts.

The SSC Stenographer examination will be conducted on 2 different levels. The first level is Grade C and D exam that comprises of MCQs and is conducted online. After this exam has been conducted, an exam to test your skill sets in various domains is conducted by SSC.
